One of the most over looked areas of being successful in network marketing is cultivating and developing relationships to expand your circle of prospective business associates. Relationship marketing is the process of attracting, maintaining, and enhancing relationships.
The Golden Rule of Business tells us "All things being equal, people will do business with people they know and like." Networking is a process to get more people to know you and presumably like you. Effective and successful networking begins with building relationships. Creating trusted and lasting relationships is a very powerful way to achieve success in our personal and business life. Dale Carnegie had some very basic principles to follow; Begin a relationship in a friendly way, show a sincere and genuine interest in the other person, and be a good listener.
According to Bob Burg author of "The Success Formula" He offers some great approaches as you meet people. Make sure the other person enjoys the conversation; talk about them! Find out how they got started in their line of work. It is a chance for them to tell you their story, and for you to learn a lot. Help them reveal what gives them the greatest satisfaction from their work. Talking about it helps them re-discover the real rewards of their job. Most people just want to know that you genuinely care about them. It has to come from your heart. You cannot have an ulterior motive that would be benefiting you. It only makes sense that if you are truly interested in others then they will be interested in you.
In the early 1990s the concept of relationship marketing was formally introduced into the field of service marketing. As the concept of relationship marketing has emerged there has been a shift from transaction marketing, which is focusing on getting a single sale and little emphasis on the customer, to relationship marketing which is concentrating on customer retention and a high customer service emphasis. The key to this retention is to offer value in the service that we provide. This will result in a high customer commitment.
There is so much that the public is bombarded with on a daily basis. In order for you to be a successful home based business owner you are going to have to stand out. The best way to do that is to build a relationship with the prospect whether it is for joining you in your business or purchasing your product. Your aim is to create a strong, lasting relationship.
For your network marketing success you need to understand some basics about human beings. Remember, network marketing is not a sales business; as we said earlier it is relationship marketing.
There is another strategy that can be implemented for successfully attaining these relationships. That would be to recognize the four known personality types and effectively relate to them. To do this you have to be aware that everyone does not speak the same "language" per say. If you ask sincere questions about them it will help define which group the person belongs to, and in turn you will have a greater chance of getting your message across and connecting with that person. Make sure that your communication has a reasonably equal amount of the following:
Facts and figures to appeal to the Analytical and Pragmatic
Enthusiasm and excitement to appeal to the Extrovert
Testimonials to appeal to the Amiable
The key here is to be able to recognize the different types of personalities but not lose who you are in the process of relating to them. Be sensitive to the differences in everyone but stay true to who you are. The result will be sure success in building long lasting relationships.
